Esthetics Department Manager, WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello, I am Melissa Hoefling. I have been with Kneaded Relief since 2000. I graduated from Martin’s College of Cosmetology in 1999, earning a License of Esthetics. I started working as an esthetician in my hometown of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Then I decided it was time to step outside of my hometown and experience Madison. Kneaded Relief has been the only spa I have worked at since I moved here. You may ask yourself, why? The reason is Kneaded Relief has a great team and a welcoming atmosphere.
Throughout the years, I have expanded my knowledge by taking classes at the Conservatory of Esthetics, now known as, the Bioelements Learning Center and by studying and discovering new information and techniques in my field of practice. In every treatment I provide, my goal is to teach the importance of skin care and to customize an everyday regimen for each individual’s specific needs. I also would like to help each individual relax, by finding their inner peace so they can leave the stress of everyday life behind them. I look forward to seeing you soon!
When I turned 40 I decided to get more serious about taking care of my skin. Kneaded Relief was close to my house so I wanted to give it a try. I was randomly matched to Melissa and am forever grateful. From my first facial appointment I could tell she would teach me a lot about caring for my skin. She made a point to share what she noticed, positive and negative, and gave me simple and practical advise to continue with home care. I look forward to returning every six to eight weeks to experience her professional care. Thank you Melissa for helping me have a more positive relationship with my skin. It was a long time coming.”
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello Everyone! My name is Nicki Neal and I am one of the Estheticians here at Kneaded Relief. We welcome you and hope you feel at home!
My journey began with makeup when I was just a little girl. I loved playing around with different colors and shades and seeing how those colors looked paired with one another. As I went through my high school years I started trying different looks on my friends. My friends started coming to me to do their makeup before we would go to events like prom and homecoming. I began to realize the passion I had for makeup and loved how I could enhance someone’s natural beauty and I truly enjoyed how it made them feel.
My path took me down a number of roads ranging from being a Nanny to being the Executive Assistant to the CEO of a water park resort in Wisconsin Dells. During these travels and experiences, I was always looking for that one thing in life that would make me feel complete in terms of my career. All the time never giving much thought to pursue my passion of makeup and skin. I started attending college for Business Management and quickly realized that this was not the path I wanted to take. I started looking at other options and came across Panache Beauty Academy. I inquired for more information and before I knew it I was enrolled to become a licensed Esthetician.
During my time at Panache I realized that my passion stretched beyond makeup. I was learning a great deal more than I had ever imagined and fell in love with skin care as a whole. I couldn’t get enough information and wanted to be able to help people feel great and look great. This is where my journey truly became what it is today. Not only was I able to go to school for something I loved but I found that my love for skin could help so many people in so many different ways. I found great joy in working with people who I could help.
I started working for a spa in Wisconsin Dells shortly after graduating. I eventually became the lead Esthetician of the spa and was getting to spread my knowledge to clients and other Estheticians. Just recently my family and I decided to move to Madison Wisconsin. In doing so, I wanted to join a spa that could help take me to the next level in my career. A spa that was viewed highly by the community and they were treated like family. I was fortunate enough to become an Esthetician at Kneaded Relief and have this great spa be the next chapter of my journey.
I welcome you and your family to be a part of our family. I want nothing more than to share my passion and knowledge with you.
I have received several facials around Madison and other spas on vacation, this was hands down the best experience I’ve had. The most relaxing too! I would highly recommend Nicki. She provides incredible service and I look forward to seeing her again! Very impressed with my experience at Kneaded Relief! 90 minutes of heaven. “
WI Licensed Cosmetologist
I think I’m supposed to be writing about my journey to Kneaded Relief but let’s call it an adventure, shall we? I grew up in the days of “go play outside” and “be home by dark.” When I wasn’t catching frogs or snakes or seeing how many caterpillars I could get to crawl on me at once, I was in the garage-watching Dad rebuild old cars and trucks. As I got older, I fell in love with the outdoors and horses and my parents really didn’t see me unless I was hungry. I’ve had a billion dreams and plenty of realities. To this day I’m not sure what I want to be when I grow up, purely because I’m not too keen on growing up.
In my dreams I’ve been the pilot of an Apache helicopter for the military, I’ve been a racecar driver (Indy or drag, not Nascar), I’ve been a famous cartoonist and the writer of a giggle-worthy column. Here in the real work, my vision isn’t good enough to fly an Apache, but I’ve built demolition derby cars and driven them to pieces. I’m a racecar driver every time I get behind the wheel of that old Trans Am Dad and I built, I write for myself, for my sanity, and for my children I’m the best cartoonist you’ve ever seen on a Magnadoodle.
My path of beauty and wellness, comes from the person I’ve spoken the least about: my mother. My mother who, to this day, works herself to the bone at a factory job. My mother who said “oh could you please just go be a girl” when at seventeen I was dead set on custom auto body as a career. Admittedly, my angst teenage self didn’t like this advice, but I did need it, and now each day when I wake up happy to go to work and not breath paint fumes or lay on a cement floor, I thank her. Each day I look out at this prairie view, I thank her for making me go be a girl. Without her, I may have never found the yin to my very prevalent yang.
Today, my clients are my masterpiece from their nails to their healthy, happy skin to their engaging conversation. So cheers to dreams, and cheers to realities. Cheers to fast cars and cute sundresses, but mostly, cheers to the happiness you can achieve if you just let go of the wheel.
Krystal was fabulous! I was very relaxed and pleased and this was my first facial. Why did I wait so long? I’ll definitely be back for another.”
WI Licensed Esthetician and Make-up Artist
Hello there! My name is Mel and I am an Esthetician here at Kneaded Relief.
My journey into esthetics started with my love of makeup artistry. Makeup artistry has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I remember going to family gatherings and I would be the only person my age, around 10 years old, wearing red lipstick and blush. As I got older, my passion for makeup artistry only grew stronger and I knew it was what I wanted to pursue as my career (aside from singing, dancing and being famous).
After graduating high school in 2002, I spent time working in an assisted living home and as a bartender/server. As soon as the opportunity presented itself, I took a position in a makeup/skincare department at a local department store. That is when I fell in love with skincare! For a few years, I managed a makeup and skincare line, but decided I wanted to try a spa setting. After doing that for a few years, I knew I needed to go back to school to acquire my license in esthetics, but going back to school was very scary! In 2012, I decided it was finally time—no more waiting!!! I attended the VICI Aveda Institute in Milwaukee, WI and graduated in December of 2012.
The world of esthetics is my life. I would not be happy doing anything else. I love coming to work and feeling like its not actually work, simply because I love what I do! I truly enjoy helping people, in any capacity, and that is why I am here. I’m here to help guide you to where you want to be with your skincare. I am a very compassionate person and I care deeply about each of my clients. When my clients are happy, I’m happy!
If you have any questions, please ask! I am here to help and will do everything I can to ensure you leave very happy! Welcome to Kneaded Relief! I can’t wait to meet your smiling face!
Treatments with Mel are always the best! Her attention to every detail and my experience is always so appreciated. She keeps me coming back for more!”
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hi my name is Jenna Warlin and I am an esthetician at Kneaded Relief.
My path here began when I started esthetic school at the Aveda Institute in Madison in November 2015. I’ve always wondered “What should I be when I grow up?” I never knew what my future had in store for me, so when I graduated from high school and went onto college, I quickly realized that a 4 year University wasn’t for me. That led me to work as a CNA for 5 years and once again at the end of my 5 years working in a nursing facility, I was asking myself “is this what I am going to be doing for the rest of my life?”
I met my husband in 2013 and his job made us move from the lovely upper peninsula of Michigan to Oak Creek WI, where once again I was starting over with no college education and no career. I found myself unhappy and working at Woodman’s Food Market and as a host at a restaurant. Finally something happened and I knew I was never going to be happy until I found a job that I can really truly enjoy doing. Who doesn’t love pampering themselves with a day at the spa? I sure do. One day I was sitting in a chair, getting my hair done at the Aveda Institute when I saw a poster that said “Enroll Now” and that day basically changed my life.
I went home researched everything about esthetics, the school, what I can do once I graduate and for once everything seemed like it was coming together for me career wise. I enrolled shortly after and officially began my career as an esthetician. I am so blessed and grateful to be given the opportunity to work alongside talented and passionate coworkers. Coming to work every day is finally something I can actually look forward to by bringing peace and relaxation to my clients in the beautiful setting here at Kneaded Relief. I couldn’t be happier to be a part of the team.
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hi! My name is Kelsey and I am an Esthetician at Kneaded Relief. Being born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I never imagined myself living in Wisconsin. Moving to a place where I had no family or friends was never a part of what I had planned for my life, but it turned out to be one of the greatest things I have ever done for myself.
I first entered the spa industry in 2014 working as a front desk receptionist at a spa while still living in Chicago. During that time, I was attending college part time to initially major in interior design, which quickly changed to nursing, which then changed again to ultrasound technology (clearly, I had no idea what I wanted for myself at that time). After having my first facial at the spa I worked at and working more closely with the skin care products we offered there, it all clicked. Skin care was a passion I wanted to turn into a career.
During the summer of 2014, my fiancé got a new job that required him to move to Wisconsin. I remember the day we were looking for an apartment for him in Madison vividly because we drove past Kneaded Relief and I jokingly said, “I’m going to work there when I move here!” My fiancé moved and I stayed in Chicago to focus on finishing my degree (my final major was art, after all that switching). In May of 2015, I decided to apply at Kneaded Relief for a Guest Service position with the intentions of becoming an esthetician in the future. Once I was hired, everything started falling into place. I moved to Madison and had this awesome job where I was surrounded by people who were incredibly passionate about their careers, which was so inspiring to me.
I worked in Guest Services for about two years until I finally pushed myself to pursue my dreams and attend school for esthetics. I graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in July of 2017. I cannot believe I did not do this sooner, because I am happier than I have ever been and I am so grateful to be a part of Kneaded Relief’s team.
My main goal as an esthetician is for my clients to feel beautiful in their own skin. I look forward to working with you and creating a routine that will lead to healthy, beautiful skin!
