Who are peels for?
Peels are for everyone. Whether your skin is dry, oily, combination or event sensitive, there is a treatment for you at Kneaded Relief.
What skin conditions do peels improve?
Peels are safe and effective in improving and preventing most skin conditions including:
Aging, reducing fine lines and wrinkles
Acne, control oil production for fewer breakouts
Discoloration, provides a more even skin tone
Sensitive skin/rosacea
How do they work?
PCA Peels are formulated to be gentle yet effective using advanced ingredient stabilization and delivery technology. Each peel has a unique blend of acids that penetrate the skin to exfoliate and re-generate the skin’s natural cycle. Immediately after a peel, skin will be dewy with possible redness. On day two, the skin will be tight and may feel dry. Starting two to three days after treatment, shedding may appear. This is the skin getting rid of dead skin cells to make room for healthy fresh cells to take their place. If you experience shedding, it usually lasts for about two to three days. After about a week you are left with bright and glowing skin.
When/ how often should I get them?
The skin’s natural cycle is 28 days, so most people can get peels monthly. For acne and hyperpigmentation, peels can be performed more frequently at the discretion of the esthetician. Because peels make a visible difference in the skin, they should be scheduled at least a week before a major event, and two weeks before any prolonged sun exposure.
What should I expect during my peel service?
A peel service is not like your typical facial experience. Because the skin is being put through a workout, your esthetician will be communicating with you about each step. You will be asked how active your skin feels several times during the facial. You can expect some light stinging from the peel solution that will die down with the help of a fan and correctives after the peel solution is applied. Directly after a peel your skin may appear red but that should fade by a few hours after your service.
When will I see results?
Results will vary for each individual and their needs. Usually, results are most visible after a series of three peels performed 4 weeks apart. For more serious conditions, several rounds of peels may be needed, however it is important to be consistent. Waiting too long between peels can mean losing progress on results that have already been made so be sure to schedule your next peel before you leave the spa.
This is my first peel, what should I do?
If you’ve never had a peel with Kneaded Relief before, or at all, we recommend seeing us for a Wellness Facial first. This will allow your esthetician to get familiar with your skin, gives you the opportunity to ask questions, and we can get you started on using PCA products in your at home regimen. Using products at home before doing a peel will give you better results because your skin will be more used to the ingredients and formulations in the professional products.
We recommend starting with an Express Peel if this is your first peel visit with Kneaded Relief as a precaution. It’s important for your esthetician to gauge your skin’s sensitivity before moving on to more layers of peel.
It is recommended that you take the following into consideration:
· For best results and to reduce the risk of complications, it is recommended that you use PCA SKIN daily care products 10 to 14 days prior to treatment.
· Do not go to a tanning bed two weeks prior to treatment. This practice should be discontinued due to the increased risk of skin cancer and signs of aging.
· It is recommended that extended sun exposure be avoided, especially in the 10 days prior to treatment.
· It is recommended to delay use of tretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, EpiDuo, Ziana and high-percentage AHA and BHA products for approximately five days prior to treatment. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing use of any prescription medications.

Before & After Gallery
“What's not to love about this place! It's relaxing, friendly, clean and on time. They have the most tranquil waiting room overlooking a prairie setting. No other spa in Madison has anything even close. The services are all top notch and the employees love working there. You won't be disappointed. I get regular pedicures and am now spoiled. Cup of tea, hot neck wrap and massage chair while I overlook the prairie setting are all what I keep coming back for.”
