What to Expect as Our Guest
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the more common questions our guests have about Kneaded Relief and what you should expect as our guest.
What should I wear when receiving a massage, facial or body treatment?
When receiving a massage, it is best to undress to your comfort level. At all times your therapist will properly drape the linens so that all parts of the body are correctly covered. Only the body part that they will be working on will be uncovered. For facial services, some guests prefer to leave their slacks on. However, we do recommend that if you prefer to leave your bra on that you pull the straps down under your arms so we have access to your shoulders/arms for the massage portion of some of our facials. Since our tables are heated, some guests do prefer to undress to their comfort level. When receiving a body treatment, since most get quite messy, guests tend to undress completely, however this is totally up to you and your comfort level. You will remain covered with a sheet or towel at all times other than the areas being worked on.
What should I do before I come in for a treatment (excluding nail and waxing services)?
Before a treatment, you want to make sure to increase your water intake. Water will help the body naturally flush out toxins and allow your muscles the ability to relax easier. Also, you want to eat a lighter meal and make sure to arrive 15-20 minutes before your service begins so that you have plenty of time to start the relaxation process, change into a robe and sandals and relax in our relaxation retreat. We also have an Aromatherapy Bath and Aromatherapy Steam Shower available which may be reserved prior to your treatment to allow your muscles time to relax and soften. Please inquire with our Guest Service team if you would like to add on a Hydrotherapy treatment.
Why do I have to fill out paperwork before a service at Kneaded Relief?
All services at Kneaded Relief do require a level of paperwork to be completed. Because of the nature of the services, the therapists need to know any previous/current medical history as well as specifics in regards to what the therapist will be working on. At Kneaded Relief, we want to help you to the best of our ability and the more information we have the better we can help you achieve whatever goal you have when you come on in. Click here to read over our new policy. We understand that there are a lot of questions and it may take a few minutes to complete the information. We appreciate your time in allowing us to serve you best. However, if you choose not to answer certain questions or complete all the paperwork, that is your choice and we respect that. We do also ask that you complete a new form if it has been a year since your last visit and/or if there is a change in your health history.
How many intake forms will I need to complete?
Our goal is to have all intake forms completed in advance via email so there is not a need for paperwork at the Spa. PLEASE watch your email/text for forms after scheduling your appointment.
Each form will have a separate email/text with a link to it.
You will receive: 1) Cancellation Form; 2) Health & Wellness Form; 3) Service Form (each service type - i.e. facial, massage, nails, waxing, body treatment) - will have a separate form. You will only need to complete these forms once a year.
However, if you receive a Facial one day and then schedule a Massage for a future date, you will receive a Massage form for the second visit.
We also have a separate form for Minors as well as for our Spa Peel. These two forms need to be completed for EVERY visit.
Why do I have to arrive 15-20 minutes before my appointment time?
If you are a new guest or have not been to the spa in over a year, we do ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork, receive a tour of the spa to become acquainted with our space, change into a robe and sandals if you choose as well as relax in our relaxation retreat before your service begins. We never know how busy our Guest Service team will be. In order not to feel rushed, we ask that you allow this time. If you have been to the spa within the last year, we still recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can get checked in on time, change into a robe and sandals if you choose and get some downtime before your service begins.
How long can I stay after my service?
As long as the spa is open, you are welcome to enjoy our relaxation retreat, take a shower in our locker room or take a nap on the couch!
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for a 48-hour cancellation for all appointments and our spa packages. Unless we receive a cancellation call or email within policy hours, we will charge a 50% cancellation fee. No shows will be charged a 100% no show fee. if you have cold/flu symptoms, we ask that you kindly reschedule your appointment(s).
How do I know which facial treatment is best for me?
If you would like to receive a facial at Kneaded Relief but are unsure of which one to choose we would recommend to come in and receive a free 30 minute consultation with one of our estheticians before you book the facial. They will look over the skin and together you can decide what facial would work best for the results you are looking to achieve. Otherwise, if you just prefer to schedule a facial, we recommend starting with our Wellness Facial. This facials includes a short consultation and analysis of your skin to best determine what products to use. Your esthetician will then recommend what services to receive and within what time frame to help you reach your goals!
Can I call if I have questions after my service? Who do I speak with?
At Kneaded Relief we welcome all calls concerning your service. Our Guest Service Representatives can answer most questions, but if they feel that a therapist or a manager could better answer your question, they will direct you to the appropriate person.
Do I need to bring in swimwear to wear during a hydro service?
All hydro units are completely private and cleaned/sanitized after each use, so you are welcome to bring a swimsuit but it is not a necessity.
If I’m scheduling a nail service and I have a cut, plantar wart or nail fungus, do I need to let you know?
Yes. Because of State of WI guidelines, we are unable to provide nail services to anyone suffering or suspected of suffering from a nail fungus. Depending on the severity of the cut and/or plantar wart, we may still be able to perform the service sans water.
If I am pregnant, should I tell the Guest Services Representative on the phone?
Yes. Services usually have to either be modified or unfortunately not performed if a client is pregnant. If the Guest Service Rep is aware of the pregnancy, they are able to suggest services for you. Additionally, any massages performed during pregnancy must be approved with a doctor’s note for your safety.
When receiving a waxing service are there any medications I should avoid?
Clients taking Accutane cannot receive waxing. Those using Retin-A, Renova or other AHA’s should discontinue use for 48 hours prior to receiving any waxing treatments. If these medications are used and not discontinued before a waxing service, lifting of the skin can occur.
How can I receive your text specials?
To sign up for text club just text SPA to 608-360-5737 (KRDS)
Should I leave a tip for my therapist? How much is customary for a tip?
Tips are always appreciated but never expected. If you would like to leave a tip we give the suggestion to use the same tipping protocol as you would at a restaurant.
What if I need to use the restroom during my service?
If you do need to use the restroom, please just let your therapist know and they will give you a robe to change in to and direct you to the restroom. We want you to be able to fully relax and if this or anything else arises then please just let your therapist know.
Why am I offered a pair of spa sandals to wear when I am at Kneaded Relief?
We would like to give you the best experience possible at Kneaded Relief and to take off your shoes and slip into comfy spa sandals helps with that experience. We also want to prevent loud shoes from interrupting others relaxation while in a service.
Do I need to change into a robe for my service?
If you are receiving multiple services, it is best to change into one of our robes. We do have lockers provided for your belongings in our locker room. If you are only receiving one service, we leave that choice up to you. Some guests prefer to simply change in the treatment room whereas others prefer to enjoy their relaxing experience in one of our comfy robes.
Should I take my make-up off before I receive a service?
It is not necessary to take your make-up off before a facial. Our Estheticians will take your make-up off as part of the service.
However, if you are wearing waterproof mascara, we do ask that you use the make up remove & wipes provided in the massage rooms or relaxation retreat as it tends to stain our face cradle covers.
