Esthetics Department Manager, WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello, my name is Melissa. I have been with Kneaded Relief since 2000. I graduated from Martin’s College of Cosmetology in 1999, earning a License of Esthetics. I started working as an esthetician in my hometown of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Then I decided it was time to step outside of my hometown and experience Madison. Kneaded Relief has been the only spa I have worked at since I moved here. You may ask yourself, why? The reason is Kneaded Relief has a great team and a welcoming atmosphere.
Throughout the years, I have expanded my knowledge by taking classes at the Conservatory of Esthetics, now known as, the Bioelements Learning Center and by studying and discovering new information and techniques in my field of practice. In every treatment I provide, my goal is to teach the importance of skin care and to customize an everyday regimen for each individual’s specific needs. I also would like to help each individual relax, by finding their inner peace so they can leave the stress of everyday life behind them. I look forward to seeing you soon!
When I turned 40 I decided to get more serious about taking care of my skin. Kneaded Relief was close to my house so I wanted to give it a try. I was randomly matched to Melissa and am forever grateful. From my first facial appointment I could tell she would teach me a lot about caring for my skin. She made a point to share what she noticed, positive and negative, and gave me simple and practical advise to continue with home care. I look forward to returning every six to eight weeks to experience her professional care. Thank you Melissa for helping me have a more positive relationship with my skin. It was a long time coming.”
WI Licensed Esthetician and Make-up Artist
Hello there! My name is Mel and I am an Esthetician here at Kneaded Relief.
My journey into esthetics started with my love of makeup artistry. Makeup artistry has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I remember going to family gatherings and I would be the only person my age, around 10 years old, wearing red lipstick and blush. As I got older, my passion for makeup artistry only grew stronger and I knew it was what I wanted to pursue as my career (aside from singing, dancing and being famous).
After graduating high school in 2002, I spent time working in an assisted living home and as a bartender/server. As soon as the opportunity presented itself, I took a position in a makeup/skincare department at a local department store. That is when I fell in love with skincare! For a few years, I managed a makeup and skincare line, but decided I wanted to try a spa setting. After doing that for a few years, I knew I needed to go back to school to acquire my license in esthetics, but going back to school was very scary! In 2012, I decided it was finally time—no more waiting!!! I attended the VICI Aveda Institute in Milwaukee, WI and graduated in December of 2012.
The world of esthetics is my life. I would not be happy doing anything else. I love coming to work and feeling like its not actually work, simply because I love what I do! I truly enjoy helping people, in any capacity, and that is why I am here. I’m here to help guide you to where you want to be with your skincare. I am a very compassionate person and I care deeply about each of my clients. When my clients are happy, I’m happy!
If you have any questions, please ask! I am here to help and will do everything I can to ensure you leave very happy! Welcome to Kneaded Relief! I can’t wait to meet your smiling face!
Treatments with Mel are always the best! Her attention to every detail and my experience is always so appreciated. She keeps me coming back for more!”
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello! My name is Lonnie and I am one of the Estheticians here at Kneaded Relief.
Just like most of my wonderful colleagues, my interest in skin care started at home as a young girl. I was endlessly fascinated with my mother’s make-up and high heels. My mom was always preaching the importance of taking care of your skin since her passion in life was to fight the signs of aging skin every day.
I came late into the professional world of skin care, finally going back to school at Aveda and graduating in 2016. The push to go to Esthetics school came from my best friend who had been an Esthetician for many years. I had begun my apprenticeship with her several years prior to my formal schooling.
She taught me about the many treatments offered on the medical side of esthetics. I then realized that skin care was my passion also and decided to finally make the time to go to school. While in school I soon realized that educating my clients about their skin and providing a relaxing environment was more my speed and not the more sterile side of medical esthetics.
On the advice from another friend I applied to work at Kneaded Relief because they had a stellar reputation and were the best spa in Madison. And voila`, here I am. I can truly say that I am so happy and blessed to work in such a welcoming place doing exactly what I was born to do.
Cannot say enough – felt totally taken care of and rejuvenated. Very knowledgeable and very professional. She seemed very experienced and confident.”
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello everyone, and welcome to Kneaded Relief!
My name is Laura, and I have been licensed Cosmetology-Esthetician for over 25 years. I grew up in a tiny river town near La Crosse WI and moved to Madison in the late 80s to earn a degree in English Literature at UW-Madison and a Cosmetology degree from IBA Beauty College. Although I dabbled as a freelance writer for a while, it was my love of esthetics that called to me and I eventually made a career of.
My deep interest in skincare and makeup began when I was a teen. I was that stereotypical, disconsolate teenager who battled acne and wasted too much time trying to treat or hide it with DIY concoctions to no avail. Thankfully the esthetics landscape has become much more advanced since the days of steaming your face over a pot of boiling water on the stove! In any case, this early obsession with my pores led me to a gratifying career of peering into others’ pores as a skincare professional.
I spent the first part of my career working downtown Chicago in upscale salons and spas, where clients would come seeking nurturing and stillness, and later medical spas, where more aggressive therapies were used to treat the skin under the guidance of a plastic surgeon or other physicians. I can say I’ve witnessed many incredible evolutions in the skincare industry, from the time-honored Mint Julep masks of the 80s, to Chemical peels, lasers, injectables and Vampire facials of today. As I always say, “we are in a good age to be aging in,” with all the advanced technology in the industry to give us younger, healthier looking skin!
I moved back to Madison from Chicago over a decade ago, and eventually found my home here at Kneaded Relief. I now reside on a 6 generation Dairy Farm in New Glarus with my farmer-husband and hundreds of Brown Swiss Cows. While I do miss the ebullition and glamour of Michigan Ave, I truly love all the natural beauty of WI. With the abundance of lakes, running trails, bike paths, and so many places with sylvan charm to escape to like the surroundings of Kneaded Relief! I’m happy to find my Happy Place.
Laura is gentle and caring! Very friendly, immediately felt at ease. “
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello nice to meet you, my name is Camille and I’m a licensed esthetician here at Kneaded Relief.
I was born and raised here in Madison. My birthday is June 20.
At the age of twenty I moved to Chicago. While working in the cosmetics department at Macys, I decided I wanted to take my passion for beauty and skincare a step further, and that’s when I enrolled myself in an esthetics program. After graduating from the program and receiving my license, I immediately began working as a skin therapist at Ulta’s Flagship location in downtown Chicago- performing facials, waxing and makeup.
After living in Chicago for three years, I decided that I really missed many things about Madison and decided to move back. After moving back to Madison I worked at the Benefit Brow Bar inside Ulta focusing on eyebrow and facial waxing. I am so happy to now be a part of the Kneaded Relief Team here in Fitchburg.
I love to help my clients improve their skin with customized skin treatments, as well as educating them on proper home care so that they are able to maintain the progress we make. Seeing someone’s skin improve and transform over time is very rewarding for me.
Her touch was perfect, even with the extractions. I enjoyed the facial and her suggested skin care changes. She was great!”
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hi, my name is Sara and I am an Esthetician here at Kneaded Relief. Nice to meet you!
I am originally from Northern California and moved to the Midwest in the early 2000’s. After graduating high school, I moved around a bit living in Sacramento, Minneapolis, and Door County. I finally settled on Madison in 2011 and have been living on the east side ever since.
I have worked as a server/bartender since I was 18 but I have always known a career in the beauty industry was my dream. I chose Esthetics because originally I wanted to be a professional makeup artist but once I was in school and started learning about skin I knew that’s where my passion lies. I love customizing facials to client’s specific needs and giving them a memorable experience in the spa!
I am a believer that the energy we put into the world is the energy we get back and I bring that positivity into every facial or wax I do!
I am so excited to be here at Kneaded Relief and to meet all of you!
WI Licensed Esthetician
Hello everyone! My name is Addy and I am one of the many talented Estheticians here at Kneaded Relief.
I’ve been living in the Madison area for most of my life. After graduating from Oregon High School in 2018, I decided to attend the nursing program at Winona State University. After my first year, it was clear to me that nursing was not my passion. It wasn’t until I went with my father to his haircut appointment at the Aveda Institute that I found my passion. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and left there enrolled in the Esthiology program. I love all things beauty. I have always been interested in skin care, as well as being mindful of the products and ingredients that you use on the face.
My goal in the treatment room is to empower individuals by enhancing their natural beauty and confidence. In addition to teach the importance of skin care and provide a customized regimen based on each individual’s skin needs.
I’m excited to start and grow my career here at Kneaded Relief!
